CASE REPORT OF AN EPITHELIOID VARIANT OF KAPOSI SARCOMA: A RARE MIMIC OF ANGIOSARCOMA

Cutaneous Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is a vascular neoplasm with broad spectrumclinicopathology. An epithelioid morphology, rare recent variant of KS, many variants KS that may mimic other neoplasms poses diagnostic challenge. We report on 75-year-old Saudi man HIV- negative who had been diagnosed classical the right foot 8 years before present episode. Histopathological findings new lesion included areas showing cells moderate pleomorphism, growing in solid sheets. The show nuclear enlargement and hyperchromasia mimicking angiosarcoma. Immunohistochemistry shows strong diffuse staining pattern for HHV-8 latent antigen-1 (LNA-1) as well spindle cells. A diagnosis made, which should be within known histological KS. Prior to this case, has reported only three times literature. Since shares similar clinical features angiosarcoma, integration context, histopathologic immunohistochemical results critical obtaining correct treatment.
